Not really.
W2DC boxes are far less expensive that UNIX counterparts. And one W2DC box
is certainly less expensive than 50 NT machines.
W2DC is not much more than W2KAS with *only* certified drivers and a few
additional (albeit very nice) features for data center usage.

Then you are paying a lot more than you need to... UNIX is still far too
expensive because of the dedicated software + the hardware.

They weren't making any claims as to what was superior. They simply stated
that they were testing for 18 months and came to the conclusion that W2DC
was easier to manage - and that would bring costs down - not the actual
savings on software.

MS does cut a lot of deals when it benefits them- but then so does every

1) the cruise missile strike on the analgesic (aspirin) factory.
2) the bombing campaign in Kosovo.
Both of these were killing innocent people so that his personal
