Agreed. What we've seen with Linux thus far is just the tip of the
iceberg. This isn't a case like with BeOS or Mac where linux is
having trouble courting developers or garnering support within large
organizations.

Notwithstanding Chad's wishful thinking to the contrary, it hasn't
even hit it's started to hit it's stride as a consumer OS.

That said, I don't think that Linux will attain Windows level of
marketshare in the near future. Well, unless Microsoft does
something crazy and implements an even more draconian licensing
policy that forces users to repurchase software that they've already
paid for every 3 years, or worse, tries to force them to pay a
monthly bill for software services.

Doh!

Of course fool. By using a secure operating system in the
first place an E-mail virus not only can't trash out the
OS core but it can't get at your address book.

Linux provides this, Microsoft doesn't.

This paragraph is completely foolish. UNIX doesn't open up a shit
pile of services like Windows does in the first place.

Second, you'll never see some secret back door sewed into your
operating system with an appology not and instructions for some
.dll to delete to close it.

>> And when we discovered there was a new backdoor, we were again asked to
>> delete a particular .DLL program to eliminate the problem.

What? Are we saying that Microsoft doesn't use .dll's
in IIS? Are we saying they didn't give out instructions
to delete a certain .dll to close an illegal backdoor
they put in every IIS server in the universe?

Secondly, how do you not use something anymore when it's
on the CD which install the fucking system Chad?
Do you just have to remember to delete it every time
your server craps out and you need to reinstall?

Thirdly, why is Microsoft shipping an OS with an illegal
.dll which allows illegal entry into your corporation
in the first place?

Fourthly, since MS has given instructions to delete this
.dll to close the security breach, what other function
did it have to support IIS? If you took a car engine
and just arbitrarily threw away a piston it would
hurt the cars performance and or usability?

I think what we've learned in the last few days is
conclusive proof that Microsoft is a criminal
organization up to no good. I also wonder who else
has knowledge of this secret access and why.

>> When people complain about the lousy rotten service Microsoft provides

>What? LOOK OUT! BLACK HELIOCOPTERS!

No no no. Your not pulling this fucking shit on us again
Chad. You could get away with this mindless dribble last
year when the question was up in the air. But now that
Microsoft has admitted it put an illegal backdoor into
every IIS server in the planet, you can no longer pull
this baby crap on us.

And YES, the company jumps handsprings to defend MS's
for what ever strange reason. Since class action
suits have been authorized against Microsoft now
for these kinds of violations, it is without saying
that companies who continue to run MS products now
that they have been proven insecure - even by admission
of Microsoft Corporation - are equally liable under
the law.

So if a batch of credit cards or some other kind of
financial information got stolen from an IIS server
due to this kind of negligence, the company running
the server is a duly responsible party under the
law and will have to pay the damanges.

I wonder what ever got you into the mode of not spelling your
name anymore. -c = Chad Myers.

Well, I can't blame you. I wouldn't sign my name to any of this
shit you typed back either. It's quickly changing from
a debate over whether MS is ciminal to why are you still
fucking doing business with a criminal organization.

And appearently via this class action ruling the courts agree.

All admin can be done through a browser, or if you are using Solaris on the
client, use the special Java based admin program. Whats so hard about that?
nothing. Aaron, also consider that Jan is a mear office clerk who uses Word and
Windows, and because she can install Windows from scratch that somehow makes her
an admin.

Also, the CEO of Work and Income New Zealand is accountable to the State Services
Commission. The CEO is on a 3 year contract, fails to live up to the contract, its
terminated at the end. Someone in that position would not do something stupid like
tendering out there mission critical operations to the likes of the Wintel cronies.
