They would definately make linux kernel modules GPL and any GPL
software modified by them as GPL
They have if they don't want law inforsers on there ass
<see GPL for details>
Though what they *can* do is make GPL software and linux modfication to
help there commercial packages go mainstream
That is what i am worried about
MS may not gain 99% market but it is going to pollute
free software environment. Already there is a kind of pollution
like
1) Free software is being made specifically linux in mind
We have gained a lot from BSD's ( TCP for one)
all the software we for linux can run on BSD if author has a
intent. Linux is not a solution for all problems. BSD has got a
very stable market share
2) Open source licsense like QPL and netscape license are very
commercial in nature. One should atleast read it once before
using
3) We should'nt fall for under grade commercial product just
because its from MS or SUN or IBM. We should try to find free
software solution
go to <www.freshmeat.net> <www.sourceforge.net>
They have info on free software mostly
