i think i now know what's going on.
you asked (ftechmail getches mail and then..)

well, put it in /var/spool/mail of course. but my SMTP says "relaying
to akr@localhost prohibited by administrator". so there's no problem
while talking to the pop3 (or imap) server. those guys know me as
[EMAIL PROTECTED]  but my local machine SMTP says i can't relay to
akr@localhost. 

will try to send you the listing of fetchmail -v.
