I took care of the problem by running samba. I haven't gotten samba to
let anyone share anything from my linux box (its all set up to, it just
asks for a password fro EVERYTHING (including $IPC), and even though I'm
logged inot win98 with my correct username, it still says incorrect
passwd). Simply by having samba running, it seems to "capture" or
"filter" the dns lookups. On my network, win98 kept trying to lookup
[EMAIL PROTECTED] It no longer does this, probily due to responces
from samba in SMB protocall.
