Hi Ben --
I resolved the problem by dowloading a shareware ftp client from
http://sunsite.auc.dk/tucows/ftpnt.html -- just picking at random, I
tried "Leap FTP" -- it has an option checkbox to force PASV mode, and
voila -- ftp now works from my NT client through the Linix masq/diald
box to that pesky NT server. With the PASV option off, it behaves
just like the MS ftp client I've been trying to use. Maybe the Linux
ftp clients are smart enough to know when to use the PASV option.
Anyway, now I can get some work done.
Thanks for paying attention.
