On this one I have installed a Debian 2.0 GNU/Linux Distribution, the base system, which is about 20 MB without 3 or 4 useless packages. Having a complete distribution has got its advantages, it's very easy to add/remove/upgrade packages and you can install the system in a standard way (diskettes & ftp/nfs/cdrom). I would like to build a distribution based on Debian but much smaller than the minimum of the standard one for embedded use. Of course this solution will never be as good as copying only the programs and libraries needed in space used, but I thing the advantages are good enough to keep it in mind. greetings, Juan Jesus Rodriguez R&D Engineer Electronics Engineering Dept.
