Hi Vinu,
Yes, mkreiserfs will wipe out your entire partition. The
solution essentially is to
1. Copy your root to another partition/hard disk.
2. Change the settings in lilo and etc/fstab to point to the
new root.
3. Boot off the new root.
4. Format old root w/ reiserfs.
5. Copy data back.
Or you can format the new partition w/ reiserfs -- copy root
there and thereafter boot off the new partition.
Basically, no easy way to do it ... Have fun! :>
