That's absolutely correct. 32MB is gone when you use reiserfs but later you will
find that reiserfs is much more efficient to manage space than ext2. On ext2 you
add free space+used space and you will see how much it's investing in metadata.
OTOH on reiserfs it's almost always, used space+free space+32MB=available space.

All I miss is a -c option to mkreiserfs. It's there for ext2 but not for
mkreiserfs.

Another observation. When I first installed mandrake8 on my i810 box, I had
improper settings of APM in BIOS. So system was slow. I changed it later and
system was fine. But I still had a problem. A boot up after crash/power cut
would be extremly slow. I had to reboot once more to restore the speed.

Now when I installed Mandrake8 with all BIOS settings tweaked, evrything is
fast, even bootups after power down. Looks like reiserfs is very good indeed...
and I can actually play tuxracer on my i810.... 

Tip of the day... If you are mandrake user... K Menu->Network->Web->Quata... I
was surprised. You will be too...
