Why use cable and invest on cable modems and stuff ?? when you can run it
on ethernet directly. (one hub on each floor maybe .. )

Considering that you are most probably not going to be having a > 10Mbps
pipe from VSNL .. a linux router should be able to handle the traffic
just as well.
