From my limited knowledge I see that everytime I create a new initrd 
lilo needs to be updated but it doesnt seem to be so in the case of 
grub. As far as I know the bootloader needs to know about the hard disk 
if it wants to do anything constructive. That explains the need to 
update lilo while creating a new initrd. What is happening with grub ?? 
I just update /etc/grub.conf and grub somehow is aware of the new kernel 
modules even though I havent told grub how to access the SCSI module 
needed to read /etc/grub.conf ??
