Just run
irattach /dev/ttySn -s1
Then if you do irdadump you should see packets.
The scripts need to be changed to only start up irattach. Dag i
still see irmanager called from etc/irda in irda-utils-0.9.12. This
will confuse the masses..

I have qite the same problem, irmanager do not call /etc/irda/drivers.
But what are the parameters for irattach ?
I have no device associated with the toshoboe driver.
