Contact Romac-IT http://www.romac-its.nl he sells pretty much everthing in the
merchandising.

Also look at http://www.linuxland.nl

But I hope you will give Marco Kooijmans a call from Romac he is also planning
to setup a online
Linux merchandising shop.

Even if you only read from floppy, depending on the filesystem type,
the system may be trying to update access time entries.

Try mounting the floppy read-only.

If you dudn't delete linux then linux boot disk you made at the end of
the linux installation and then run /sbin/lilo to reinstall lilo into
the MBR

After changing /etc/lilo.conf, have you re-run /sbin/lilo ? If not, do
so and then restart ...

With the kernel 2.2.x the append is no longer necesarry it asks the BioS
how much memory is in the system.
So my guess is that when you start the computer and it is testing memory
that you also only see 128MB right?

I think it was me who said that...

Please take a look at the Jargon File Resource at
<URL:http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/>. It's a great place for
finding out about computer jargon, computer history and hacker
folklore and it contains quite a few very funny things (although it is
really a very serious and important document since people that were
*there* in "the old days" are beginning to disappear).

There's a nice HTML-version of the Jargon File at
<URL:http://watson-net.com/jargon/>.

My favorite part of the Jargon File is the Story of Mel ("Real
Programmers write in FORTRAN"), partly because I'm currently stuck
with a fortran 77 project...

Is vpop3d only work with different IPs?
Can I configue it to work with different host names instead of IPs?
If not, is that mean that I have to give each virtual email domain an
individual IP address?
My problem is, mail can be send to virtual user's mailbox successfully, but
I have no way to retrieve them. POP3 server saids bad login. As virtual

I was thinking that since this was the second drive on the machine it is now
on, there would be nothing in the mbr, because lilo is normally written to
the mbr of the primary master, right? In which case, DOS 'fdisk /mbr' or
'lilo -U' would need to be run to get rid of it on that machine.

Then I was assuming that the drive is going to be primary master on the
other computer, but that may not be the case. I also thought that the
partition table for the drive was written on the mbr of the drive itself.
So it seems that the drive will have the partition table on it, but not
lilo. Have I got that straight? Then when the drive gets moved, it already
has the partition table set and could be used to install linux by just
selecting those partitions for the same purpose they were used in the first
installation. They would just have to be formatted (initialized) by the
install program as normally is done on installation, but there would be no
need to mess with fdisk or disk druid to set up the partitions. Only the
mount points would need to be put in, and the swap selected. Have I got
this right?

Sorry.
Why I must mount floppy read-only?
Why I must see those messages ..... buffer_dirty....?
Can I do simple things without annoying messages ?
1. insert floppy
2. mount floppy
3. copy from floppy
4. umount floppy
5. remove floppy

That's the correct value. BST == GMT +0100 . You're one hour ahead of
GMT during daylight savings time.

Using "BST" as a timezone would be in violation of the relevant RFCs
that define the timezone names to be used in email headers. It's easier
to use GMT +/- values (IMHO) even if you were living in one of the
timezones that are valid to be used in the headers (PDT and EDT, I
think), since that's making it easier for anyone else to check when
the mail was really created (assuming you're not using an email server
10000 miles away from your home location).

Try

cat /proc/cpuinfo

To see what speed that reports. I'm not familiar with the process the
login screen on Mandrake uses to discover the CPU speed, (it wouldn't
surprise me to discover it was also using /proc), but the cpu MHz

I have ZERO USB stuff, here, although I do have ports. I have been

running the 2.4.0 test series all the way to test-7, which is current

on the box. There were some issues early, test-2 and 3 would not print,

but after that, I have seen no instability or other issues at all. I

have a really generic sort of box, here, so your stuff may raise other

issues, but my experience has been all good.
