Did you execute /usr/sbin/exportfs ? otherwise changes in /etc/exports
aren't recognised.  mounting unexported filesystems through nfs (like

$ mount piggy.cite.kotnet.org:/brolala_poging /mnt/joepie 

will result in the same error message:

piggy.cite.kotnet.org:/brolala_poging failed, reason given by server:
Permission denied
