I'm running debian and i couldn't find this command. What is it doing?
I'm fighting with the same problem since about 2 weeks.
System just started on a old Compaq Contura 410 486DX2-50, 2GB, 20 MB.
I made ppp-connection - ping O.K.
Then i tried on the new Gateway Solo2500:
#mount -t nfs 192.168.0.1:/ /mnt/compaq
mount: 192.168.0.1:/ failed, reason given by server: Permission denied
on the compaq ist /etc/exports:
# ...
/ 192.168.0.2(rw)
and /etc/hosts.allow:
# ...
ALL: ALL
and /etc/hosts.deny:
# ...
# ...
The /var/log/syslog just says:
...
...
pppd[190]: local IP address 192.168.0.1
pppd[190]: remote IP address 192.168.0.2
mschz mountd[143]: NFS mount of / attemted from 192.168.0.2
mschz mountd[143]: Unauthorized access by NFS client 192.168.0.2.
mschz mountd[143]: Blocked attempt of 192.168.0.2 to mount /
/var/log/daemon.log also says just the last three lines
...
...
mschz mountd[143]: NFS mount of / attemted from 192.168.0.2
mschz mountd[143]: Unauthorized access by NFS client 192.168.0.2.
mschz mountd[143]: Blocked attempt of 192.168.0.2 to mount /
So this was not much helpful.
Any new ideas?
