Somebody with more knowledge, please correct me, but I seem to
recall that a year or a bit more ago, when another of M$'s famous
bug-fixes (read service-pack) came out, suddenly all ISP's that
served with M$NT4*, couldn't be connected to anymore.  't Seemed
M$ had changed it's login-protocol, and some new information
request was inserted.  To be compatible with 95, it checked what
client was connecting to NT and accepted old protocol connections
through NT.  
At least, that's what I recall of the subject about a year - a year and a
half ago.
