Sorry about my delayed response, my drive went down so I had to build another
system (IBM's warranty return procedure just got BAD).

Yes, from what I've read that is the case. Samuli Kaski, who also responded,
has said what sounds to be the same thing.
Is there a solution? I've heard installing a SOCKS server might be it, but
I'm not clear how that solves things.
