For something like MS Office, StartOffice can do the work, free but a big
download. Also you should have >32 Megs to run it reasonably. Check
www.stardiv.com. It also does some HTML, but I never used it.
For all the other smaller things, the best resource is (I believe)
sunsite.unc.edu. There are several X based ftp clients, but I dont know them.
You can check the Linux LSM (Linux software map), somewhere in www.linux.org.
You can also check www.plig.org/xwinman/ for other window managers. Most of the
newer WMs come with a set of such tools that you may need. KDE
has some utils for Internet and a zip prog which looks like WinZip. You may
feel better with it.
And you can get acrobat reader for Linux from Adobe, although ghostview will do
the job.
