 It sounds like you installed Linux into a DOS partition or something. If this is 
the case, then Win9x/NT will of course take the filespace back to a proper 
FAT/FAT32 partition, and any linux files will get messed up.

 If you have Linux installed in a proper Linux Native partition, Windows 
shouldn't see the files, so it shouldn't change them.

 That's an educated guess from reading your problem ;o)

 I have 2 seperate hard drives in my machine, both the same model, one as 
master, the other as slave.
 
 On hda, I have Win98, in C partition, misc files on the E partition, and 
games on the F partition.
 On hdb, I have Win applications on the D partition, and the other 9GB is 
linux partitions. Currently, I don't have much installed, as I installed 
Slackware 4 only 2 days ago :o)

 I'm currently very slowly working my way through configuring the system. It's 
not connected to the net yet, and won't be for a while. At least, not running 
Linux. I have to work out all the updates ;o)
