Sounds like the same ones I'm using.

There isn't much choice of Ultra160 disks at the moment, is there?

Are you using a proper Ultra160-Wide cable? It should definately have
cable-crossover pairs (as I believe all LVD cabling does), and it should
probably be labelled as being Ultra160 capable.

Yes! It seems to work great for me. My setup is as follows:

Super Micro P6DGE mainboard, Dual PIII 700/100, 2048 MB PC100 ECC
Adaptec 39160 Ultra160-Wide SCSI
Adaptec Ultra160 Cabling to 5-bay SCA hot-swap module
4 x Seagate Barracuda 18XL, 18.4 GB, Ultra160-Wide SCSI, Model ST318436LCV

It works really well - RAID0 over all four drives (this was a test, not
production!) gave 95 MB/s read at 45% CPU, and 84 MB/s write at 82% CPU.

RAID5 over all four drives gives 77 MB/s read at 45% CPU, and 30 MB/s
write at 43% CPU.

Regards,

Corin
