Yes, but as with others here on this list, the time I would spend working on
a kludged together SMP system like this is worth far less than paying for
the system outright.

So, Dave, how many hours have you put into this so far?  Was it worth the
number of hours spent vs. the money "saved"?  

Right now the best bang for the buck is a PII 350.  Grand total for a dual
processor board (100MHz bus) and the two processors was around $700.  I
spent more than that on my first PPro 200 uniprocessor.  So I ask again, is
it really worth the "savings"?
