I have similar code that presents a device driver interface for IPMI
and demonstrates reading the SDR and sensor status. Unfortunately,
it's currently hung up waiting for the lawyers at work for sign off on
it. I have management approval all the way up to the board level,
I've been expecting final approval for about two months now,
unfortunately. It gets irritating.
I also have working code for the IPMI watchdog, and I've got a bit of
code working for the SEL (system event log). I also have an I2C LCD
working via the I2C/IPMB connector on the system bus of the T440BX
motherboard.
I have to say, I *REALLY* like Intel's new server boards. The
combination of serial console support, IPMI, a watchdog, and DHCP/TFTP
boot support can take most of the pain out of supporting remotely
located PCs.
