I agree -- unless your just itching to try something new, or are not 
satisfied with some aspect of slackware, it is probably easier to stick 
with what you are already used to. 

If you are going to try something new, I'd like to throw SuSE 6.1 in to 
the mix. After using Slackware for quite a while, and then trying RedHat 
and Caldera distributions, I tried SuSE and have switched all but one of 
my Linux systems to SuSE (a total of 5 systems now). I'm using SuSE 5.3 
(with an SMP compiled kernel) on an Intranet server at work and SuSE 6.1 
(with SMP compiled in) on my development box.
