Download source, make, install.  Ask your distro to package it, if
you need it and they don't.  ISTR Debian and Ubuntu pakage it; and
I have vague memories of a RedHat option.  I have a SuSE distro that
does not provide an fxload RPM.

No need for kernel sync,  Just package it with the application software
using that device.

I don't recall seeing anything, although someone did point out recently
that "newer" FX2 chips have 16K on-chip memory not 8K.  Feel free to
submit a patch to recognize that new chip type.
