USB.  The modem hands out a DHCP address when it's not connected to the
cable head node.  The problem is - that address has an infinite lease
time.  Yea, it's not a true Linux problem - except the dhcpcd client I
use then exits, and leaves you with a private, 192.x.x.x address.  Once
it's sync'd/connected/talking to the cable head node, it then stops
handing out DHCP leases, and lets the cable system do that.

I've not tried ethernet - The box I'm using is a small box, with 2 pci
slots - one has a video capture, the other has a Lucent OCHI 4port USB
card in it (it's playing phone switch, with the Creative VOIPBlaster.

the USB port works on this thing.
