PMFJI, but I also have a brand-new (less than a month old) Linksys cable modem, that has been working pretty well but has also gone to "sleep" three times. Each time I had to press the reset button on the back of the modem (less harsh than a power cycle I suppose) and it came right back up, no need to unload/reload any modules. In fact, my kernel is all non-modular, with CDCEther included.
So, just echoing other users' experiences; mine does the same thing, but not with great frequency. One interesting point: at this time I am the _only_ user on this cable node (hooray for me!), so there is no traffic going through the modem that isn't mine (meaning the traffic level is not very high). I will try to pay attention to my usage pattern(s) the next time this happens and see if traffic level has anything to do with the sleeping problem. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas Davis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Brad Hards" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 11:17 AM Subject: Re: [Linux-usb-users] I have "Motorola Cable Modem SB4100e" that connected by USB.Will work properly > Brad Hards wrote: > > > > Thomas - did / can you try rebooting the machine with the modem power > > remaining on?
