well, to me IDE2USB bridge is an excelent backup idea, because of dramatic price dropdown in classic intern HDD. the problem however is the bridge, you do not have too much to choose from (I mean, linux compatible). i blind-bought one which unluckily isint supported, others are not available, at least here in Europe.
