Hi All
I have a Freecom FS-1 CD-RW that I plug into my Compaq
Armada laptop.
Everything used to work fine using SuSE 8.1. However,
when I tried to upgrade to SuSE 8.2 it stopped
working. I have also tried with various other distro's
without success.
For a while I have since just stayed with 8.1, but now
that I have a bit of spare time on my hands I would
like to resolve the problem and move to Knoppix as
distro of choice.
I am currently experimenting with Knoppix 3.3, which
has a slightly modified 2.4.22 kernel. I have tried
compiling a plain 2.4.22 kernel, making sure that
Freecom support was included, but this gave the same
results.
Can someone please point me in the right direction to
get this solved?
The following gives details of trying to use the CD-RW
under SuSE 8.1 (which works) and Knoppix 3.3 (which
doesn't).
Thanks
Kevin
