computers are a complicated and nerdy subject. ask away, you will ge answers, number one rule of this type of list, "no question is too simple." You may get a lot of replies like:
RTFM (read the forgoodnesssake manual) man X (read the unix man page for X) but thats par for the course. Most helpers don't want to re-type the man page for the benefit of the list. Most people expect to be able to use a computer without reading or learning anything. It just ain't so. I started on linux before google started. It was hard to find answers. Then google came along and it was easier. Now there is SO much linux stuff indexed on google that its getting harder again. Also the word linux appears on every second shopping page, so if you want to know about "Epson Scanner" and "Linux" you end up with a whole swag of shopping sites. Maybe a session on finding effective answers to your linux problems on the net is in order?
