5. Anything else Linux users want to discuss as a group. E.g. if anyone is interested in formation & registration of a local GNU/Linux User Group, as specified in http://www.fsf.org/gnu/gnu-user-groups.html , I'd really like to hear from them. Add further points here ...

is it likely to be any different to the present group? I am not in favour of making the name any longer or more complex (Christchurch and Neighbouring Districts GNU/Linux, Hurd, BSD and other Free/Libre Operating Systems amd Software Users, Supporters and Friends Group?)

Register the present group with GNU by all means. We are all GNU users,
may as well show the flag!

My thoughts thus far were to produce a (draft) 'membership poll' for the meeting.
A short & simple one-pager that would include the following question:

What name do you prefer for our GLUG:

a) Canterbury GNU/Linux Users Group (CGLUG)

b) GNU/Linux Users Group of Waitaha/Canterbury (GLUGOWC)

c) Other (please specify) _______________________________

Thanks guys, for your humorous contributions thus far :-)
