We list GNU/Linux User Groups--that is, user groups that describe themselves
as "GNU/Linux" User Groups, and make an effort to distinguish the
GNU/Linux operating system from Linux, the kernel. We don't list "Linux
User Groups" in this page, but we invite them to become GNU/Linux User
Groups and help correct the widespread confusion about the system.

unless someone really feels a need to fragment the user community into
two groups?

Jim has clearly stated the diversity & depth within list - a very, very good thing.

Chris's thinking parallels mine - horses for courses. Anyone can forward group suggestions.

"GNU/Linux" is simply an honest declaration, & one that gives focus for those seeking forward motion for F/LOSS in general, around GNU/Linux distributions in particular.

I, for one, am happy exploring this simple focus, and would like to work with others in this aim.
Talk about it, if you want - or anything you like - at a social Wednesday night. That's the invitation.

Thanks CLUG, for making this possible (& Carl for explaining how).
