Jayne and any other new list members - Welcome!

No its a forum for the Linux "Community" in the Canterbury region.
Naturally a "community" is made up of members with varying degree of skill. No one here has ALL the answers since many of the questions are matters of opinion and taste. Of course some answers are arrived at by "consensus". It is a good idea if you are having problems with your installation or even if you haven't yet installed LINUX of any type on your machine to ask for assistance. There are a number of people who will free give of their time and advice.
I have a few machines running different distributions here @ E-CAF feel free to drop by to take a peek and have a chat.

I recently downloaded "Linare" have not yet installed - will advise on its "look n feel" once I have.

So no you won't "brass anyone off" - ask away!

Be wary of using non-text only email though :)

Regards

I joined this list a few days ago and thought I should stop “lurking” and say hello.

I’m a total newbie so is it ok for me to join in here or is this list just for people who know what they’re talking about? Don’t want to brass anyone off when I start asking basic questions.

Thanks
