telecom uses PPPoA for adsl, many modems/routers proxy that to PPPoE or
PPTP. PPoP is a new one on me, but ADSL is undergoing some changes.
Dunno what connection adsl has to yobbo, perhaps it is just a
co-incidence they are using similar protocols.

yeah well there are many different cards there! but I take it from
looking there that its probably some form of 802.11a/b/g, as that seems
to be their main wireless thrust on wisp-router.com. Which takes more
configuration in linux than just setting an IP address. For a start you
need a compatible card, and often as not compile a driver for your
kernel yada yada. winmodem'ish, but if you get a compatible card its
fine. So I am officially confused. I might talk to them again, I did a
year or so ago.
