Downloaded the latest (64bit) version Attempted to install but failed when trying to build modules. Followed the procedure I found with Google and the modules seemed to build OK. The VMWare browser interface then had an option for my WinXP VM to Ugrade VMWare Tools so I did. Mouse is unuseable now in that VM.
I might try Roger's "uninstall" suggestion next although I am pretty happy with the Virtualbox VM I set up so I might not bother with VMWare. (But I do not like to be beaten though so I probably will perservere.) Rob
