The fourth amendment. It states: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. While it does not contain the words "medical records" neither does it contain "financial records", "religous documents" or "political documents" but I'm sure that precedents have been set to determine that they're all inclusive as they do not have to be in your posession to be included as a protected paper or effect. Otherwise your safe deposit boxes, attorney's files, medical records, etc. would not require a warrant to be seized.
