Had similar yesterday with dual-boot Win98/RedHat 8 machine. Booted Windows to retrieve and email a Lotus file for daughter and found Outlook would not connect, neither would Internet Explorer. Switched to Mozilla (still in Win98) and it worked fine, both browser and email.
