Here's another vote for ThinkPads. I've owned several and all worked flawlessly - very well built. I'm currently using a 240Z (thanks, dep) which is small and lightweight. Bought it refurbed on eBay for something like $600. It dual-boots XP Pro and RH9. Even the WinModem works.


Dell laptops are good also, but I don't know how they play with Linux.
