On Friday 26 October 2001 08:47 am, you sent an epistle: > I can make you some binary RPMS Skip.. > or you can roll you own using the source and notes on > http://hunley.homeip.net/linnux_sources/utils/
Errmmmmmmmmm, Yes Ah! Well. I got a 404 and some nice excuses as to why. Then I lookede at the URL and thought well maybe that the awy Doug spells linux, but I might just try it with my spelling, waddya know I got a ftp page<grin>. I looked at the notes and it just might as well have been javanese. I stop dead with ./configure and a few prefixes. So does all that turn it into rpms? I never read the readmes in these big doolies as I get information overload that I do not understand, its bad enough with the multimedia I am trying to compile. If they bomb out in the make I am done for as I have no idea why, and they do far too often. So I like to compile my own but unless you can tell me how VERY simply, I will take you up on your offer to do it for me. Thanks mate. BTW I know you have all the time in the world to do things like this <tounge in cheek> -- ------------------------------------------------------------- To those who have been in harms way, to those that have made the sacrifice in humanities name. At the going down of the sun and in the morning I shall remember them. ------------------------------------------------------------- Keith Antoine aka "skippy" 18 Arkana St The Gap Queensland 4061 Australia PH 16 7 33002161 Retired Geriatric and Sometime Electronics Engineer : Knowall _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list Archives, Digests, etc at http://linux.nf/mailman/listinfo/linux-users
