On Friday 26 October 2001 08:47 am, you sent an epistle:

Errmmmmmmmmm, Yes Ah! Well. I got a 404 and some nice excuses as to why.
Then I lookede at the URL and thought well maybe that the awy Doug spells
linux, but I might just try it with my spelling, waddya know I got a ftp
page<grin>.

I looked at the notes and it just might as well have been javanese. I stop
dead with ./configure and a few prefixes. So does all that turn it into rpms?
I never read the readmes in these big doolies as I get information overload
that I do not understand, its bad enough with the multimedia I am trying to
compile. If they bomb out in the make I am done for as I have no idea why,
and they do far too often.

So I like to compile my own but unless you can tell me how VERY simply, I
will take you up on your offer to do it for me.

Thanks mate. BTW I know you have all the time in the world to do things like
this <tounge in cheek>
