Thanks to everyone who has come up with suggestions on venues, and who are volunteering. I've been in contact with Lavida and it doesn't look like a goer. They were doubtful they'd be able to provide enough tables to go with chairs in the auditorium and the break out rooms. No matter if you're at the keynote or in a breakout session, there are always lots of people on their devices doing stuff. Having a laptop on your lap isn't cool.

Couldn't really consider Lincoln I'm afraid. The words "conflict of interest" sorta sprang to mind.

Burnside High is too far away from surrounding facilities, such as accommodation and eateries. If you've been to an LCA before you'll be quite aware of the large volume of beer that gets consumed!

At UC we can most likely do a lot of the organising ourselves rather than paying for an events organiser to do it. This will keep the price down of course.

I've already got support from our IT department regarding Wifi capacity. Surely just under 3 years is plenty of warning? :)

Cheers,
