SuSE 8.0 ships with a bash/readline that works fine with (at least) width 1 characters in an UTF-8 locale. There is also an alpha release of a readline version that attempts to handle single-width, double-width and zero-width characters in all multibyte locales. But it's alpha (read: it doesn't work for me yet). Bruno -- Linux-UTF8: i18n of Linux on all levels Archive: http://mail.nl.linux.org/linux-utf8/
