The router shouldn't make any difference. Mint is pretty good with all
the cards save that Atheros. A friend on Fedora Forums and I have fun
grousing about that decision. Rants are fun. :)

indicates that the driver will be there.

It looks as if you can use the b43-fwcutter to get it working. (Judging
from a post about Ubuntu.)

I can't be much help with it as I don't have the cad, so have no
experience. However, I suspect that if you go to either Mint or Ubuntu
forums, if you have issues, you'll be able to get it working. It doesn't
look as if it will be completely painless, but it doesn't seem too
impossible either, as far as I can tell.

Do keep in mind that using Linux will involve a learning curve--yeah,
Ubuntu and Fedora tell you how great they are, and how much better than
Windows and all that---it's called advertising, Get over it people. :)

Willow: Old reliable? Yeah, great. There's a sexy
nickname.
Buffy: Well, I didn't mean it as...
Willow: No, it's fine, I'm Old Reliable.
Xander: She just means, you know, the geyser. You're like a
geyser of fun that goes off at regular intervals.
Willow: That's Old Faithful.
Xander: Isn't that the dog that the guy had to shoot...?
Willow: That's Old Yeller.
Buffy: Xander, I beg you not to help me.
