How surreal. I also had a 7 inch eeepc and broke the screen (by
myself, can't blame the wife - or the kids - for that one) and
replaced it with the 901. Sorry I can't help on the fan side of things
tho, would check the ASUS site for schematics of the two netbooks (or
a replacement part site and see if the same fan can be used on both) -
or just run it without - the atom chip is supposed to run cool I
beleive, and as long as the 'book isn't sitting on a radiator or the
vents being blocked then it can probably function without the fan (I
think! NO WARRANTY - just my guess.)

Anyway, good luck with it - I hope its ok - I love my little eee -
have it running Xubuntu set up to mimic Crunchbang as I couldn't get
that to install  with the last update to Statler, and it works like a
dream for me.
