Do you have a L440GX+ or a MS440GX?  If it is an L440GX, just switch the
"recovery boot" jumper, put in the recovery floppy, and turn it on.  The
recovery boot BIOS knows how to find the required files.

If it is an MS440GX, what kind of NVRAM does it use?
