As everyone else is asking for support for their respective chipset, I
thought I might aswell. So, has there been anything done on the
AMD762(SMP)? Not that I have one, as it isn't released yet, but it should
be close to the AMD761 (yes, that's probably naive, I know), and that's
out. I'm only asking because we're getting funds to start up a x86 cluster
here. And when looking at price/performance ratios, the Athlon comes out
waaaaay ontop. It will hopefully be the same for the SMP, dependent on the
mobo providers "price strategy", of course. It would be kinda nice with
dual cpu nodes, because then I can justify the price for SCSI drives. Also;
I saw that the Athlon L2 cache is not supported, which is a bit worrying.
Is that something that is going to change? Or has it already changed? The
post was a couple weeks ago. I have already bugged AMD about the L2 cache
thing, but they haven't replied yet. Cheeres,
