The reason that NT benchmarks better and will continue benchmarking
better is simply b/c the way that drivers and all other software
is written in Windows world.  I worked on a Win driver before, and
we would tune the driver for the benchmark, so obviously, when you
have an OS that is tuned from bottom to top to run benchmarks,
it will probably blow things away when the benchmarks are run.  But
how well does a benchmarked tuned OS handle real world computing?  
Just look at the rising market share of Linux and I think that answers 
that question :)
