Guys, caltiger (http://www.caltiger.com/) is offerring free internet
access for life. All you have to do is go to their site and register.
Registration in Bombay starts on 25th March. They make money through
advts displayed at the top of your screen.
That was basically the advt. Here's the truth:
Really pathetic web pages. Deserves an entry in the html hell page.
Their connections are advt as being fast. Through my shell account, I had
a quick initial burst of data (16K) and then sudden stop - the remaining
3K took at least 12 seconds to download (thats 2kbps)
The page uses javascript to open new windows and frames for accessing.
There is absolutely no alternative for persons with non-javascript,
non-frame browsers, and persons with visual disabilities would have a hard
time navigating around - given the windows that pop up when you click on
links.
Lets wait for the 25th to see how service is. Don't know if they support
linux yet, but we'll be sure to let them know if they don't.
