Really? I read text very fast, and I hate pages which take a long time to load
(unless its a lot of text). There was a slashdot discussion on text stuff,
please note that input there is from blind people also. Go read that first,
before you say anything about it.
Ever heard of the phrase :Freedom of choice?

You can do the same too in lynx, and much faster. As there are no images
to distract, I can focus on the content, not the glamour. With a well designed
page, there should be no need for frames. Unless its a very deep linked site.

An image is worth a thousand words, but it has to convey more information than
a thousand words.
