OMFG I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That last bit was all I needed. I went into Synaptic and found
various gcc's. Version 3.3 was installed, as was 4.0. Version 3.4
was listed, but only the base was installed. So I told Synaptic to
install the rest of it (and the .doc files for all three at the same
time). Then the make install command worked!

Once I had that done I did ndiswrapper -l and it said no drivers were
installed. So I did ndiswrapper -i netbc564.inf. That appeared to go
OK, but when I did ndiswrapper -l again it said the driver was
installed, but was the incorrect driver. I knew better, as this is the
same driver that worked before the upgrade to Breezy.

So then I deleted it with ndiswrapper -e netbc564, and then
reinstalled it. This time it gave me more lines as it installed it, and
ndiswrapper -l reported it installed and no error messages. Holding
my breath I did modproble ndiswrapper AND IT WORKED!!!!

So then I went into Administration > Networking and the wireless
was right there! YAY!!!

So now I'm all happy again and stuff. A thousand thanks to you
and Jonathan. And this time I'm going to write all this down and
save it as a text file somewhere! No wait ... I should write it all
down and post it on the Ubuntu wiki! That way even if a truck backs
over my R3240 I'll still be able to find the instructions to reinstall on
the next computer. :)
