Besides that, storage space/ (hard disk) is so cheap these days, that most computers have 10s if not 100s of unused gigs on them, so it doesn't matter if you take up a little extra space with libraries and some programs.

Generally I get that from the magazine distributions. And the magazine distributions (with both gnome and kde installed by default) aren't available yet. If I install kubuntu, I don't know what else to click on to get all of gnome; if I install ubuntu, I don't know what else to click on to get all of kde. Do you? Anyone?
