Ah, memories - I remember getting Slackware up on my Pentium the first time. That was interesting, creating a boot floppy disk, a root floppy disk (back when the kernel still fit in 1.44MB) and then a slew of other floppies to install various stuffs. Boy do I ever appreciate LiveCDs now... :-)

I can still remember how proud I was when I got red hat 4.22 installed on my hard drive. Nevermind that none of my usb devices were recognized, nor my modem or soundcard/ chip. And I didn't buy the DVD (forget where) just to have it sitting around collecting dust. I wanted to see what it was like. I didn't really like it. Dolphin seems buggy and unresponsive for a file manager. Puppy Linux is better ;) I think I want to get a second machine to install DreamLinux or sabayon. Hopefully a cheap machine will pop up soon. I wish MS would hurry up and phase out xp already; there will be loads of fast PCs out there dirt cheap; they generally aren't capable of running vista or win7. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Linux Users Group.
